First of all, you have to know that Multimedia (the WebMaster of this Marvelous Pacific Page have been in trouble these days. All their computers stolen during a night. This is unfortunately: Johannesburg.. ..Johannesburg is a dodgy place to live.. If you survive physically, not getting murder, you then won't escape being robbed or hijacked now and then. This is part of the deal with South Africa... So this is why the page is currently dead.. But Matt said today that everything will be soon restored. They apparently bought new computers. ..here in Rabat, all is fine. Not too hot, not too cold, and fresh during night. last night I tried sleeping outside in the garden but after 2 hours I had to go back in because of the barking dogs in the surrounding. But the sky was wonderfull and the moon near to be full... ...We got 2 more visas today but we need to get the one for Mauritania still as it is the next country... BaseOps London has notified them but Mauritania usualy never reply with a confirmation of permit number. ..And of course, the Mauritanian ambassador here, wants a number and an official paper that prouve we have the green light from the Civil Aviation in Nouakchott.. ...This is the typical kind of bureucratic ambush you daily encounter when you face African administrations... ...To travel in the Magic of Africa, you have to pay a HUGE price (and build up a serious N.R.S. ((nerve resistance system)) Fortunately we have BaseOps with us. They made an incredible job these last days, getting most of the permits with the DCA on the route. A real mission, beleive me... ...So far we almost have all aprouvals. Angola did not give us a visa yet saying that the situation got bad there with heavy fightings and they need to get final approuval from Luanda.. ..Otherwise, all is fine. Yesterday I cooked the most superb spaghettis with Bologna sauce. The sauce slowly cooked during 5 hours. I followed the original receip from Manuela my Lovely friend from Bologne. We could even manage to find imported Parmesan cheese!! It was Royal!! Well that is what everyone said.. We did not have "Chateau" Petrus to "Wet" that pasta party but a simple "Ksar" (which means chateau too..) ( for the ones that only speak English chateu means Castel..).. ...And while the sauce was soflty boiling and getting into absolute, I drove Mike and Greg to experience something very special. We went to the Hammam which is a kind of Turkish bath. Very interesting experience. An old gangster ( I said gangster because he tried hard to ripped us off on the price..) gave us a complete massage and wash... It was great!.. .. The Moroccan Army want to know more about our routing and timming because we will enter a shooting area in the south and we might have to get around a certain perimeter.. No problem with our baby GPS, we can de-route precisely.. ...But why everything always have to be complicated on Earth..?? Probably because we are too many already.. More people, more rules... ..I never want to fly in China!!... ...For the amusing news, Mike has a diamond on his left ear!! ... We went to the Medina of Rabat (old town) 3 days ago and we found a small jewellery equipped with the piercing gun and sterile "beenz". ..He was very brave (I was imprest!) and did not say anything or even moved a slightest. (Andre Sacoun!! IT IS YOUR TURN!!!)... ...Mike also has a "Bok Baard" ( Bouk en Francais.. Goatee in English...) and the new shinning earing and develish looking little beard gave him a very good look. The effect is outstanding!! ...All the girls are now turning on our path as we walk in the streets of Rabat.. ....Voila pour les nouvelles... Comme tous les Francais et Belges parlent couramment Anglais, j'ecris par consequent pour nos illetres d'amis anglophones, plus particulierement les "Gringos" qui z'en sont encore pour leur bonne moitie a croire qu'il n'existe qu'une seule et unique langue sur l'entiere planete... ...Merci pour votre solidarite avec s'te bande d'anes!! Mais la prochaine fois ce sera en francais, promis!!
