Olivier had agreed the night before in his slightly
drunk state to fly with the owner of the hotel to Gao, Mali, as a co-pilot, to collect a man being evacuated to France with a serious case of malaria. He was up and gone at 5:30 am – I took the opportunity to sleep
until 10am! Nice …. I cannot remember when I last slept so late.
It was a national holiday in Burkina-Faso, so the Nigerian embassy was closed.
Spent the day fixing my helmet, cleaning cameras and
other equipment, swimming in the pool (we are in the lap of luxury, here) and catching up on my log.
Olivier had an interesting although tiring day. He
arrived back at about 3 pm and after eating, went to sleep. We had a quiet evening in the almost-empty hotel.
