By 10:30 am I had my visa and immediately headed to the
library where there were free Internet connections and telephones. I spent about 3 hours trying to find the CO2 bottles and valves …. I called everywhere. Eventually I spoke to the Patten Group and the salesman
there, Andrew, said that he could help me, but that I should call again in the morning.
I sent an e-mail to Mara (yes, it's true, she is my
mother-in-law, even though she is only a few years older than me …. well, no, I would never do that!!) in London asking her to help us with the insurance for Greenland – I hadn't heard anything from Anthony at all
and decided that it was best that I look around as a good safety measure in case he had forgotten about us.
By 6 pm I had finished with all the letters and
telephoning that I needed to do and immediately headed to the Niagara Falls which was only 20 miles away. The falls are impressive – bigger than I expected. I took a few pics and by 8pm I was on my way heading east
on the Interstate.
